Corrections Policy

What we do when we get something wrong.

We work hard to be accurate, but we will sometimes get things wrong, or guidance will change. When that happens, we want to fix it quickly and openly.

How to report a problem

Please contact us with the page address, what you think is wrong, and, if you can, a source that shows the correct information.

What we do

  1. Check. We review the claim against our sources and current guidance from bodies such as the NHS, NIDDK and major hospitals.
  2. Correct. If we find an error, we fix it as soon as we reasonably can.
  3. Be open about it. For significant corrections, such as changes to health information, we add a note explaining what changed and when.
  4. Update dates honestly. We only show an “Updated” date when an article has genuinely been re-checked.

Safety issues get priority

If something on our site could lead to harm, such as unclear warning signs or incorrect safety information, we treat it as urgent.

What corrections do not cover

We cannot give individual medical advice or resolve disagreements about health decisions. For those, please speak to your own healthcare provider. See our medical disclaimer and editorial standards.
